Dusshera celebrations in India

04 Nights – 05 Days

About the Journey

Dussehra is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India as it symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and  marks the day when Lord Rama, the hero of the Hindu epic Ramayana, defeated the demon king Ravana.

The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, and the traditions and customs associated with it vary from region to region. In some parts of the country, elaborate processions are taken out with idols of Goddess Durga and Lord Rama, while in others, effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhakarna, and son Meghanad are burned.

In North India, the festival is celebrated as Navratri, which is a nine-day long festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. On the tenth day, Dussehra is celebrated with much fanfare, with people dressed in traditional attire, visiting fairs, and participating in cultural events and the burning of the effigies of the demons.
